John Hillcoat’s ‘Witchfinder General’ Remake Announced At Cannes

Witchfinder General is the next genre film getting a remake. Deadline reported the news from Cannes that John Hillcoat (The Road, Lawless) will be directing the new version written by Jon Croker (Woman In Black 2) with Nicholas Winding Refn (Drive, Neon Demon) serving as producer. In the 1968 original, directed by Michael Reeves and starring Vincent Price, a young soldier seeks to end the evils caused by a vicious witch hunter.
