Bad News For “Lovecraft Country” Fans

Back in 2020, Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams‘ brilliant HBO series “Lovecraft Country” made one hell of an impact on viewers with an amazing story, a brilliant cast, and a ton of fantastic special effects, and exploration of racism in the Jim Crow era, which makes the fact that the show has just been canceled somewhat of a surprise. We will not be moving forward with a second season of ‘Lovecraft Country,’” HBO said in a statement. “We are grateful for the dedication and artistry of the gifted cast and crew, and to Misha Green, who crafted this groundbreaking series. And to the fans, thank you for joining us on this journey.” The reason the cancelation is not completely a surprise is the fact that the series, based upon the novel by Matt Ruff, has run its course with its main star being killed off. In all honesty, the story would more than likely suffer if it was to continue.

Amazon Cancels Their Series “The Dark Towers”

For years Amazon has been teasing that a new series based in Stephen King’s The Dark Towers was coming. In fact, they were even announcing cast members this summer. Unfortunately, the series has now been canceled. Damn it. Deadline is reporting that the streaming service feels that series from showrunner and executive producer Glen Mazzara was “not on the level of other large scope elevated genre series,” like their upcoming “Lord of the Rings” series. The series would have followed King’s Novel closer than 2017’s film adaptation which bombed. It would have explored the origin story of Roland Deschain and his fight with the man in black. The cast was rumored to include Michael Rooker, Jerome Flynn, and Joana Ribeiro, among others.

We have disappointing news, Netflix has chosen to cancel “Daybreak” after just one season. The news came via co-creator Aron Coleite late last night. We learned last week that Daybreak will not be returning for a second season,” Coleite stated. “We’re so sorry we couldn’t share it with you sooner but also so grateful that we got to hang out in these last few live tweet sessions with all of you. Thank you for picking up what we put down, for running with it in all of your amazing, weird, monstrous ways and for being such an important part of this show and our experience making it. “In this post-apocalyptic, genre-bending series, the city of Glendale, California is populated by marauding gangs of jocks, gamers, the 4-H Club, and other fearsome tribes who are kicking ass as they fight to survive in the wake of a nuclear blast.” I don't even know how to say this, so we prepared a
