A lot of stones have been laid. We’re just deconstructing it right now against the mythology that exists to see where we can go.” It sounds like it will be a while before we see World War Z 2, but the fact that he’s taking the time to find a film worthy script is good news. The better the script, the better the movie. Brad Pitt, who starred as the main character U.N. investigator Gerry Lane in the original

During the interview Gianopulos revealed that the World War Z 2 is now in “advanced development”. Steven Knight, who penned the script back in 2014, said in 2015 that the sequel will be different from the first film and will be starting with a “clean slate”. David Fincher Closing In On Directorial Duties For WORLD WAR Z 2

It seems that World War Z 2, which appeared to be dead, is now back on in its feet and ambling, albeit slowly, forward. The film which had been removed from Paramount Studio’s production calendar back in February, has yet to officially be given the go ahead. However, with David Fincher likely to be in the director’s chair for this sequel, the green light could well come within the next few weeks. Interest in Fincher to take the helm of WWZ 2 began last summer, when Brad Grey was still studio chief. Brad Pitt specifically had a keen interest in working with Fincher again, despite having spoken with a number of other potential directors. At the time it was rumored that Fincher was equally as interested with the idea of taking on such a project, which would be his first feature since Gone Girl in 2014. Pitt and Fincher have a great chemistry, having worked together on Se7en, Fight Club

World War Z 2 May Have Found Its Director

A while back World War Z 2 lost its director, J.A. Bayona due to his commitment to another project. The film did find a new writer, Dennis Kelly. Since then there has been next to no updates on the film, until now. News comes that Brad Pitt is attempting to persuade David Fincher to have a seat in the director’s chair and join him on WWZ 2. Variety is reporting that the odds look good, as the talks are progressing. Fincher and Pitt have worked together on several great projects including Fight Club, the psychological thriller Seven, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. They seem to be a great team, making WWZ 2 a good fit to continue their actor/director relationship. The film is set to be released on June 9th, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that date is pushed back considering the huge amount of CGI and special effects that the film requires. The first film follows

Banyon, stepped away from the project last year and the new director for WWZ 2 has yet to be announced. But it sounds like the new director, who ever he or she might be, is already in negotiations. The film also got a new writer, Dennis Kelly, who has taken over for Steve Knight. WWZ was very different from most of the zombie movies of 2013. Not only was it an outbreak film, the zombies were fast paced adding extra danger for the characters. During Gerry’s travels he learned the key to
