Plot Details And Cast Revealed For “The Purge” TV Series

Fans have been eagerly awaiting news about USA and Syfy’s series adaptation of The Purge. New details have now come to light thanks to creator James DeMonaco’s discussion with EW. Executive producer Jason Blum already revealed that show will open with “an entirely new chapter in America’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness,” one that will “reveal to the fans what happens the other 364 days of the year and how that law affects people.” DeMonaco has clarified that the series is not all set on the night of the annual Purge. I’d say it’s 70, 65 percent Purge Night and then 30 percent flashback,” DeMonaco told EW. “We follow four what-seem-to-be separate storylines of people going out on the evening and experiencing the Purge. The real estate of the 10 hours of the TV allows us to use flashback, where we flashback out of the Purge world, into the regular lives, the non-Purge days, of this future America. We get

Producers Of ‘Duke Nukem’ Adaptation Give An Update

Back in January, we reported that Paramount and Platinum Dunes are teaming up for the live-action adaptation of the Duke Nukem video game starring WWE’s John Cena as the bad ass title character who appeared in 18 games released on multiple platforms beginning in 1991. In an update earlier this week, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form of Platinum Dunes spilled a few details to Cinema Blend, including that the tone of the film is extremely important to them. We are working on Duke Nukem right now. It’s going to be about tone,” Form told the site. “How do you nail that tone in the way that Deadpool nailed the tone? I think we have to do that and if we don’t get the tone right then we’re not going to make the movie.” He continued, “You know that having a misogynistic guy in today’s world, how do you make that fun and lovable and at the same time he’s got

An Update On New Line’s ‘Friday The 13th’ Reboot

Just as production was set to begin on a new Friday the 13th reboot from director Breck Eisner (The Crazies), the brakes were hit. Not much has been said about the situation, until now. Rights to the franchise are set to revert back to New Line sometime next year. But a lawsuit from the original film’s writer Victor Miller (interview) may cause problems for the studio. ArrowInTheHead.com recently talked with Platinum Dunes producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller about the situation. One of the biggest heartbreaks of the last couple years was that we were about to make that movie and it fell apart. That still hurts,” Fuller said. “The fans reach out to us; Andrew doesn’t really engage because he’s not on Twitter, but I am and I hear from the fans and that’s all they ask about. We get asked about that more than anything else.” He continued. “Fans think it’s so simple, that if we want to

A New Film Is In The Works For THE PURGE Franchise

We recently reported that The Purge franchise is being developed into a television series. Today, we have more news on the film franchise. Have you ever wondered how The Purge began? The fourth film of the franchise will answer that. That’s right, we are getting a Purge prequel. We are going back to the very beginning to learn how the deadly, lawless night began. Franchise creator James DeMonaco had this to say about the prequel: I would actually go back and I would try to talk about how it all started. That seems the natural next chapter in this, is to say, ‘Alright, we’ve done this trilogy. We see how it got to this point of someone trying to end it – this presidential figure. Now let’s go back and see how the fuck all this came about.’ How did this country get to a place where we were now accepting this kind of atrocity, this terrible thing, each year?
