Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Vera Farmiga

Hello there, my Little Monsters. We are midway through another week, and therefor it’s time to celebrate another wonderful Woman of Horror. With as many of them as there are in the genre, it can be difficult to decide on just who to highlight. But after watching one of this actress’ films last night I thought I would conjure up a Woman Crush Wednesday piece about her. See what I did there? CONJURE? OK…I know, that was cheesy. Anyway, it’s my pleasure to bring you this week’s lovely and talented lady, Miss Vera Farmiga. Vera was born in Clifton , New Jersey, to Michael and Luba Farmiga, and was raised in a rather sectarian Ukranian American community in Irvington, New Jersey. She comes from a large family and is the second oldest of seven children. The youngest of the seven is her sister, fellow actress, Taissa Farmiga. Her first language was Ukranian, and she didn’t even learn English until the

Bates Motel Announces Rihanna Cast For Its Final Season

One of the announcements to come during the San Diego Comic Con is that Bates Motel will have one final season. That’s not a big surprise considering that we said good-bye to Norma (Vera Farmiga) at the end of season 4. There was some good news during the panel, the iconic character of Marion Crane will be played by music superstar Rihanna. We reported back in May that the character would be checking into the Motel, though at the time the casting had not been announced. Image: Calebmafia.com It leaves little doubt that Rihanna and Freddie Highmore (Norman) will recreate one of the most iconic scenes in the history of horror, the shower scene featured in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 film Psycho, featuring the character Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) being stabbed to death by Norman Bates, dressed as his mother. Executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin, have known from the end of season one exactly how the series would play

Iconic Character To Appear In Season 5 Of Bates Motel

One of the most iconic scenes in the history of horror is the shower scene featured in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 film Psycho. The scene features the character Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) being stabbed to death by Norman Bates, dressed as his mother. We will see the character Marion Crane check in to the Bates Motel next season, which will be the series’ fifth and final season. Executive Producer Carlton Cuse has revealed that not only will meet the character, but that she will be featured in several episodes. “We wanted the final season to allow us to do our version of the Psycho lore,” Cuse stated. “We will be colliding with certain events in the narrative of the film, but it would be boring to just recreate Psycho.” There is no word you to who has been cast as Marion Crane. But we let you know as soon we learn the actress’ identity.

Things Heating Up At The Bates Motel

Since there was a week long hiatus between episode 4 and episode 5 of Bates Motel on A&E lets catch up where we left off. It seems like forever since the last episode. There have been some major events for the Bates, but that’s nothing unusual. Norma and Sheriff Alex Romero are such a cute couple in their obviously fake marriage. It may be legal but those two will never make it work, will they? It does seem they are getting closer despite what they may want to happen. Unfortunately it seems someone broke into the Bates home while Norma and Alex were out at a town function. Of course this happens just as things are going well for them. The DEA is getting suspicious of Alex’s “associate” at the bank even though he claims to know her only from bank business. He is also hiding money in the basement Norman used for his taxidermy. The Bob Paris thing isn’t

Bates Motel: Episode 1 Season 4 review

A Danger to Himself and Others: (spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen episode 1 of season 4 yet but you really should have by now) The episode starts with Romero sinking the boat that Bob Paris’s dead body is on while Norman is found talking to his “mother” in a field. Dylan goes to the hospital to be there when Emma wakes up from surgery. Emma has made it through the surgery so far. We finally see Emma’s mother before her father chases her away. He doesn’t think she should upset Emma after being gone for so long. She then stays at the Bates Motel. (Really, I don’t think this is a good idea.) Norman ends up in a mental ward (it’s about time). Norma does everything she can to get him out. Unfortunately he is 18 so he has to stay for a 48 hour monitoring period. When he is released Norma gets strict orders from the hospital staff
