The Four Horsemen Can’t Enjoy Retirement In Webtoon, ‘Apocalyptic Horseplay’

What do you get when you have a cantankerous motley crew like the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in retirement, a nosey journalist student, and the antichrist rolled into one story? You get the Webtoon Apocalyptic Horseplay by artist Boredman. The story follows Angela, a former journalist student who’s trying to make a name for herself by investigating a strange newspaper that only reports positive news. She soon finds that the authors of the paper are the Four Horsemen who have retired and renounced their ways and wish to live quietly in England. The discovery soon sparks unwanted attention from a secretive society of monster hunters and a child who is the antichrist. It should be noted that a couple of the characters who appear in Apocalyptic Horseplay have appeared first in another one of Boredman’s comics, Undeaded, which is another excellent Webtoon! With a dark fantasy story told through a picturesque style that resembles Disney, Apocalyptic Horseplay is an

The Park Full Of Monsters That Inspired ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’

Near central Italy is the town of Bomarzo, a picturesque location in the Italian countryside that would be a fitting backdrop for a romance movie about forbidden love during the Second World War. In the town, there’s a park called Sacro Bosco (Sacred Grove) but it’s become known as Parco dei Mostri (Park of Monsters). The park earned its name due to the number of statues that depict creatures carved out of the bedrock amongst the forest. The layout of the park was designed by Pirro Ligorio and the sculptures carved by Simone Moschino in the 16th century. The park was said to have been neglected in the 19th century till artist Salvador Dalí made a short film about the park that sparked interest resulting in a restoration project to cut back the woods that had overgrown the part and opening

Artist Spotlight: Angel M. Velasquez

This week’s Spotlight Artist is Angel M. Velasquez. Angel was born and raised in New York City. He currently resides in Farmington, NM after retiring from active duty in the U.S. Navy after 22 years of service. He makes time to sketch, doodle, paint, and compose other works of art whenever he gets the chance. He has been collecting comic related stuff all his life and is also currently working on drawing some comic books of his own. I was originally drawn to the artwork of Angel Velasquez because of his sketches of pop-culture figures, comic, and movie artwork. Angel is a truly talented artist whose works cover many genres and mediums. He has sketched iconic figures such as DC Comics’ Deadman and Lion-O from Thundercats, among many others. His artwork is also inspired by classic horror movies such as Blade, Predator, and Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead. Angel has also created many other horror related pieces, including: Cthulhu, Werewolves,
