Annabelle 2 Possesses A New Release Date

‘Annabelle 2’, the prequel to the 2014 ‘The Conjuring’ spin-off, has abandoned it’s May 19, 2017 release date for a new summer date, August 11th from Warner Bros. The film, directed by David F. Sandberg and produced by horror heavy-hitter James Wan, takes place several years after the tragic death of a dollmaker’s little girl. He and his wife “welcome into their home a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage. Soon they become the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.” Stephanie Sigman (Spectre) co-stars alongside Talitha Bateman (The 5th Wave), Lulu Wilson (Deliver Us from Evil), Philippa Anne Coulthard (After the Dark), Grace Fulton (Badland), Lou Lou Safran (The Choice), Samara Lee (The Last Witch Hunter), Anthony LaPaglia (Without a Trace), Miranda Otto (Homeland) and new comer Tayler Buck.

Full Cast Announced As Annabelle 2 Begins Filming

Earlier this month we reported that two cast members and the plot for Annabelle 2, directed by David F. Sandberg (Lights Out), had been revealed. Today, news came that filming has begun in LA. The full cast has also been announced, via Bloody Disgusting. Stephanie Sigman (Spectre) will co-star alongside Talitha Bateman The 5th Wave), Lulu Wilson Deliver Us from Evil), Philippa Anne Coulthard After the Dark), Grace Fulton (Badland), Lou Lou Safran (The Choice), Samara Lee (The Last Witch Hunter), Anthony LaPaglia (Without a Trace), Miranda Otto (Homeland) and new comer Tayler Buck. Annabelle 2 tells of a dollmaker and his wife who, 20 years after the tragic death of their daughter, welcome a nun and the girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home. Soon, the nun and the girls become the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.

James Wan On The Conjuring 3 – The Warrens And Werewolves ?

James Wan is on fire. The Conjuring 2 had an amazing opening weekend at the box office, just like the The Conjuring did. Between the films’ success and the long list of investigations by The Warrens, who The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2 were based on, it’s a no-brainer that more sequels will be made. It seems that the third installment of the franchise is already in the works, but not yet confirmed by Warner Bros. In a recent interview with Cinemablend Wan discussed one of the many possible subjects of The Conjuring 3 and the chance of it featuring something other than spirits and demons, werewolves. Maybe we can go and do it like a classic American Werewolf in London style. That would be awesome! The Warrens set against the backdrop of The Hound of Baskerville. Even though The Conjuring franchise has focused on spirits and possession up to this point, Ed Warren did publish a book titled Werewolf:

We reported last week that Annabelle 2 , the sequel to 2013 horror hit Annabelle, had entered preproduction. David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) will be directing Annabelle 2, and he already seems very excited about the project. Sandberg and even called the sequel “The Godfather II of creepy doll movies.” Today, news comes that Lord of the Rings actress Miranda Otto is the first to join the film’s cast and will play the wife of a dollmaker. Her character has been described as “a disfigured recluse”. Otto will star long side Stephanie Sigman (Narcos, Spectre), who has been cast as the nun, Sister Charlotte. Otto and Sigman’s casting is not the only Annabelle 2 news today. The sequel’s plot was also revealed, and we were right, it is a prequel. 2013’s genre hit The Conjuring not only laid a path for it’s sequel, which is now in theaters nationwide, it also gave life to a spin-off. Annabelle introduced us to the haunted doll that in real life came into the possession of Ed and Lorraine Warren, the main characters of both The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2, and real life paranormal investigators. While The Conjuring 2 continues to wow at the box office, the sequel to Annabelle is already entering production. David F. New Line May Have Found Their Director For Annabelle 2

Last October we reported that a sequel was in the works for Annabelle, the spin-off of The Conjuring. We told you that Gary Dauberman, who wrote the first film, will be returning for part two. We have since learned, via Bloody-Disgusting, that New Line has set there sights on David F. Sandberg for the directors chair. Sandberg is also the writer/director of direct James Wan’s full length adaption of the short horror film Lights Out, which will open in theaters July 22, 2016. In the first film a loving husband gifts his pregnant wife with an antique doll for their baby’s nursery. When their neighbors are murdered the doll becomes possessed by one of their spirits. Soon the family is plagued with intense paranormal activity. Annabelle was actually based on a true case handled by paranormal experts Ed and Lorraine Warren, though the doll was given a makeover for her film debut. The real Annabelle is actually a Raggedy-Anne doll

The Tracking Board first broke the news that the Gary Dauberman, who penned the original script, will be returning as writer for the next film. Unfortunately, it seems that ‘Annabelle’s’ director, John Leonetti, won’t be directing part 2. James Wan will be once again be serving as producer. James Wan On The Conjuring 3 – The Warrens And Werewolves ?
