New ‘Alien’ Sequel In The Works

On May 25th, Alien celebrated its 40th anniversary. In a writeup from Variety celebrating the anniversary, an interesting tidbit can be found regarding the future of the now Disney owned franchise. After the article mentions the franchise’s prequels, Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, it refers to a third film, which Ridley Scott “will direct”. And that the sequel “is in the script phase.” Could this be the long-awaited sequel Alien: Awakening? We don’t know yet, but it seems Scott wants the Xenomorphs to evolve. Okay, it’s dead in the water.’ I think Alien vs. Predator was a daft idea. And I’m not sure it did very well or not, I don’t know. But it somehow brought down the beast. And I said to them, ‘Listen, you can resurrect this, but we have to go back to scratch and go to a prequel, if you like.’ So we go to Prometheus, which was not bad actually. But you know, there’s no alien

New Concept Art Revives Interest In Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Alien’ Sequel

Several years ago, we almost got to see an Alien film from Neill Blomkamp, the filmmaker behind films like District 9, Elysium, and Chappie. After releasing concept art fans wanted more and we almost had it when Fox greenlit the project with Blomkamp set to direct. Blomkamp even had Sigourney Weaver on the hook to reprise her role. Unfortunately, Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant moved forward putting Blomkamp’s Alien sequel on the shelf. Alien: Covenant got less than a warm reception, but Scott insists that the story should continue. However, I’m not sure fans would agree who should be in the director’s chair for the next installment. We would love to see Blomkamp’s version of a new sequel. After his series of short films through Oats Studio (one will become a feature), there is no question in my mind that he should have a shot at the iconic franchise. During our interview with Blomkamp addressed his sequel and his short film

Ridley Scott Planning Another ‘Alien’ Film

Fans of the Alien franchise will be happy to learn that even though critics weren’t a big fan of Alien: Covenant, Ridley Scott has not given up on the franchise. In fact, he still has plans to make another film. Even though Scott has several projects underway, including re-shooting scenes from All the Money thanks to Kevin Spacey being replaced after sexual harassment allegations, and preparing for his next film which is an adaption of Don Winslow’s The Cartel, Scott has definite plans to continue the Alien franchise. Scott told EW about his plan: We are [going to make another], we are. I think what we have to do is gradually drift away from the alien stuff.” He continued, “People say,’You need more chest bursting,’ so I put a lot of that in Covenant and it fit nicely. But I think if you go again you need to start finding another solution that is more interesting. I think AI is

Details Revealed Of Alien: Covenant’s New Xenomorph

One of the best parts of the ‘Alien’ franchise are the Xenomorphs. We have been following the development of Ridley Scott’s ‘Alien: Covenant’ closely. Now, we know one of the variant creatures we will see in ‘Covenant’, thanks to one of its stars, Michael Fassbender. While speaking to BBC Radio 2, Fassbender mentioned that one of the new breeds of Xeno we will witness in ‘Covenant’ is being referred to as as a Neomorph. More details on the Neomorph were obtained by AvP Galaxy. The Neomorph were created by an infestation of a type of black goo on their planet that allowed the ecosystem to mutate. The creatures begin their lives in pods growing on trees, which infect their hosts via their ears and bursts out through their victims’ backs, a twist on the classic Facehuggers. Unlike the classic Xenomorphs, the Neomorphs are white. They are based on an unused concept from ‘Prometheus’ (art below). Michael Fassbender co-stars alongside Noomi
