‘Slender Man’ To Face ‘The Meg’

In what seems to be a dicey move Sony Pictures has changed the release date of Slender Man putting it directly in the path of New Line’s The Meg, one of the most highly-anticipated films of the year. Sony’s relationship with Slender Man has been strained from the get-go. ‘Slender Man’ Finds His Release Delayed

A lot of people are eagerly awaiting the May release of Sony Screen Gems’ Slender Man, but those people are about to be disappointed. The release has now been pushed back to August, sorry. The Creepypasta-inspired character, Slender Man, has long been described as a tall and thin with long, slender limbs. His legend became common when two 12-year-old girls brutally stabbed their friend in his name. The film, from director Sylvain White, stars Joey King, Julia Goldani Telles, Annalise Basso, Jaz Sinclair, Talitha Bateman, and Alex Fitzalan. David Birke and Victor Surge penned the script. Slender Man will haunt theaters nationwide on August 24, 2018.
