Star on a Mission to Save the Hit Series “Evil”

Netflix is known for many things, one of which is picking up shows that are close to ending, like “Lucifer.” Their latest is the supernatural series “Evil,” whose fourth season is said to be its last. But it is not going down without a fight. The stars are fighting tooth and nail for it to be renewed, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that they succeed. Debuting on CBS in 2019, the Robert and Michele King series garnered a strong following for four seasons. Plans for a fifth season on Paramount+ were underway, but a cast member’s family loss necessitated a filming delay. Unfortunately, this delay coincided with Hollywood labor disputes. By the time those were resolved, Paramount+ decided to cancel the show, leaving season four as the series finale. But in this writer’s opinion, the series has more stories it could tell. Netflix’s Under Paris in Hot Water as Legal Battle Continues

Netflix’s mega-hit shark movie Under Paris is in hot water, according to Deadline. French director Vincent Dietschy’s court case over the movie continues after suffering a recent setback. The shark movie, which has had over 85 million viewers since its early June release, ranks as Netflix’s most-watched French feature ever. The problem is that Dietschy has accused the film of being a rip-off of his original concept. Dietschy filed a lawsuit against the film’s producers and agent for plagiarism earlier this year. He alleges they stole his idea without permission or compensation. Dietschy recently sought to have Under Paris removed from Netflix while the case progressed. However, a Paris court recently rejected this request due to a technicality. The lawsuit paperwork named the wrong Netflix entity—the French arm instead of the Netherlands-based international headquarters. While the takedown request was denied, the core lawsuit remains ongoing. The next court hearing is expected in September. Dietschy’s lawyers argue this ruling is problematic.

A lot of Netflix subscribers are about to be really pissed off. The reason? In July, the Netflix app will no longer reportedly be available on over sixty different types of TVs, including 42 models by Sony. The reason? Reports say it is due to performance needs and limited software capabilities. I know it’s ridiculous, but it is what it is. Don’t know how to check to see if you’re on the list? We’ve got you covered. The model number should be listed on the backside of your TV. If not, press 123654 on your remote while the TV is on, and the model number will be listed on the first line.
