From Producer M. Night Shyamalan Comes the Max Original Thriller ‘Caddo Lake’

This October, the Max Original film Caddo Lake, from producer M. Night Shyamalan (Trap) and writer-directors Celine Held and Logan George (known for Servant), will unleash chills, thrills, and haunting mysteries. It follows a series of past deaths and disappearances that come to light when an eight-year-old girl vanishes mysteriously. Long-buried truths and newly surfaced mysteries will forever alter the history of a broken family and those around them. The story’s inspiration was born from a single photograph discovered online of the real Caddo Lake, which filmmakers Celine Held and Logan George became captivated by. This led the two to make numerous visits to the cypress forest, which straddles the border of Texas and Louisiana, leading to the film being shot over 2021 and 2022 in and around the town of Karnak, Texas. “The Conjuring” Series Set to Haunt HBO MAX

While Ed and Lorraine Warren may be taking a final bow in the upcoming sequel, The Conjuring: Last Rites, the chilling universe they helped establish is far from over. Variety reports that HBO Max is still forging ahead with the television series first announced in 2023. This shift to the small screen presents exciting possibilities for the haunting franchise. The Conjuring films, which have brought in over $2 billion at box offices, while inspired by the Warrens’ cases, have always embraced creative liberties. A television series can take this further, delving into entirely new corners of the franchise’s mythology. The source material isn’t limited to the Warrens’ case files, opening the door for a wider range of stories. The episodic nature of television allows for more flexibility. The show could follow the anthology format of “American Horror Story,” offering self-contained scares each season. Alternatively, it could take inspiration from limited series like “The Penguin” to explore a single, overarching narrative.
