The True Stories Of Six Of The Most Haunted Dolls In History

For most little girls, dolls are a wonderful thing, but some dolls are just plain bad and some dolls serve as conduit for evil spirits. I would like to share some of the true stories surrounding some of the most famous haunted dolls in existence today. Annabelle The story of the doll that inspired the horror film ‘Annabelle’, begins when a mother gives her adult daughter a Raggedy-Ann doll from a shop, in the 1970’s. The daughter, Donna, and her roommate, Angie, began to notice that the doll would change positions while they were out. Believing that the spirit of a little girl, named Annabelle, was haunting them after talking with a medium, they gave the spirit permission to possess the doll. Annabelle began to move from room to room when no one was home and the women began finding notes saying things like “Help Me” and “Miss Me?” all over the house. When Donna’s boyfriend was attacked in the

The interracial couple claimed that they had been abducted on a lonely stretch of highway, studied and then returned to their car with missing memories, which were later retrieved during hypnosis. The script, adapted from the 2007 non-fiction book ‘Captured!’ The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience’ by Kathleen Marden (Betty’s niece) and physicist Stanton Friedman. The True Stories Behind Some Of Our Favorite Horror Movies

In the opening scenes of many horror movies we’ve seen “Based on True Story” and it always seems to make the movies even more creepy. The Conjuring, Annabelle, Wolf Creek and An American Haunting are just a few examples. There are many other movies influenced by true stories, but here are a few of my favorites. Jaws This summer horror classic was inspired by a series of shark attacks that took place over twelve days along the Jersey Shore in 1916. Five people were attacked, only one survived. In July of that summer a seven foot Great White was caught. When the fisherman cut it up the middle body parts fell out of it’s stomach. The attacks stopped after the Great White was killed. A Nightmare On Elm Street Wes Craven has stated that he was inspired to write ‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’ by a series of articles in the LA Times in 1984 about two men from South

Dragons and Zombies, and Stormtroopers, Oh My. (Zombie Apocalypse Defense Force Goes to Dragon Con.)

This year I represented the ZADF at Dragon Con. It was no great imposition. I was going anyway. I go every year. The only real difference is this year I’ll be writing about it. I’m guessing that many of you have never heard of Dragon Con, and are probably wondering what the hell I’m talking about. Have you heard of Comic Con in San Diego? You probably have. It has become a huge event every year that draws massive crowds and gets national media coverage. What many people don’t realize, is that Comic Con is just one of many Cons. There are conventions devoted to comic books, video games, table top gaming, fantasy, science fiction, anime, and of course horror; then there is Dragon Con. Dragon Con covers all of those things and more. It takes place in Atlanta, GA and has been around for a while (it started back in 1987). I’ve been attending since I was a kid

Cynema: Ed Wood–Hollywood’s Whipping Boy

No Respect Apparently Michael Medved, the respected film critic gets the credit with dubbing Edward Wood, Jr. the “worst director of all time” by referring to Wood’s crowning film achievement, Plan Nine From Outer Space as perhaps the worst motion picture ever made. This is not only to come to the late Mr. Wood’s defense, but to also show how off the mark Mr. Medved was in his 1980 book The Golden Turkey Awards. Wood is the antithesis of Cynema–his passion and love for film makes him one of Hollywood’s greatest directors. Say what you want about Plan Nine, Bride of the Monster or Glen or Glenda…bad films, yes. Bad directing, absolutely. However Ed Wood was not a cynic. This column will show why films like Jaws The Revenge, Godzilla 1998 and other big budget films are far worse than anything Ed Wood ever put out, including Plan 9. By many accounts, including his own, Plan 9 From Outer Space
