Teacher Faces Jail Time For Showing Horror Movie

Teacher Sheila Kearns An Ohio teacher named Sheila Kearns could be facing jail time for showing classes the 2012 horror movie ‘ABC’s Of Death’. The 58 year old substitute teacher will stand trail on five felony charges of “disseminating matter harmful to juveniles”. The teacher showed five Spanish classes, who’s students’ ages ranged from 14-18, the film. She was caught by the principle and then claimed to be unaware of it’s content. Her argument was that she does not speak Spanish herself. Each charge could earn Kearns a year of jail time and a fine of up to $2,500. She has since been terminated by the Board of Education. Personally, I can not imagine how she did not notice the movies content the first time she showed it. You would think that she would have seen what was playing while showing it five times. For those of you who are unfamiliar with ‘ABC’s Of Death’ let me explain further. The

Movie Review: Horns (2015)

This afternoon I was lucky enough to snatch up the last copy of ‘Horns’ off the shelf of my local Wal-Mart. As soon as I got home I sat down to see for myself what all the buzz was about. I was immediately drawn into the tragic love story of a young woman, Merrin, who was murdered and a town convinced that her boyfriend “Ig” is her killer. Iggy, played by Daniel Radcliffe , is hell bent on finding the identity of her killer and bringing them to justice. After a drunken night Ig wakes up to find horns sprouting from his head. The strange horns have unique powers. Everyone who faces Ig must confess to him their darkest truths and cannot help but follow Ig’s commands. The effects and makeup in ‘Horns’ are fantastic. The imagery was incredible. ‘Horns’ truly has an amazing cast and Daniel Radcliffe really brings his character to life. I don’t think anyone could have

Voodoo Plague by Dirk Patton

Voodoo Plague by Dirk Patton is an excellent book and although I hate to end the year on the start of a series, I’m thrilled to be able to round out 2014 on a positive note! The book was published just one year ago this month, so I’m grateful to be able to recommend it so highly so recently after its first birthday. Synopsis: John Chase has just arrived in Atlanta on a business trip when America experiences the worst attacks in history. Nuclear bombs destroy cities and the widespread release of nerve gas sends the majority of the surviving population into a murderous rage. Rescuing a woman who survived the attacks he must lead her to safety as Atlanta burns, raging infected roam unchecked and society disintegrates into savagery. Entertainment 5/5 & Writing Style 5/5 This novel is clever, fast paced, and incredibly engaging. The narration is in the first person perspective and the characters are incredibly likable. This,

An Interview With KRUEL’s Director Robert Henderson

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Robert Henderson, the director of Sunset Studios’ new indie movie KRUEL, a horror/thriller about an obsessed psychotic ice cream man who stalks and abducts a young woman. KRUEL will be in select theaters May 29, 2015. You can read the full article about KRUEL here: https://horrorfuel.com/horror/reviews-horror/a-first-look-at-kruel-2015 “Writer/director Robert Henderson fell in love with movies at a young age, in large part due to his mother’s (a former stage actor) love for everything entertainment. Before her death at a relatively early age, he promised her he would one day succeed in the passion they both shared. After attending the University of Colorado, where he studied theater as a minor, he began to pursue his passion as an actor and eventual screen writer. He co-wrote the drama To Heir is Human which was directed by his brother. He almost got his first big break when Universal Studios accepted his western script Come Hell or High-water

Movie Review : Camp Dread (2014)

At Camp Dread nothing is what it seems to be. Campers who have legal, drug or other serious issues have been forced to go to the camp by their parents. The campers have a choice to go head to head in a competition on what they think is a reality show. The last camper standing wins one million dollars. What the campers don’t realize is that writer/director Julian Barrett played by Eric Roberts, has something more devious in mind for the teens. This movie has twists you never see coming. With a fresh idea and unique story line writer/director Harrison Smith brings back the feel of the slasher summer camp movies of the 80’s. Made on a small budget, Camp Dread still packs quite a punch. This movie is a great fit for slasher movie fans. Camp Dread stars Eric Roberts, who has had roles in over a hundred movies including The Dark Knight, The Human Centipede III and Assault

The History Of The Ouija Board

There’s no time like the present for a quick history lesson. Almost every one of us have used a Ouija board at least once in our lives. More than likely the first experience you had with a board was at a sleep over asking silly questions like “Who will I marry?” or “Is Elvis really dead?”. At some point you probably got spooked and swore to never use one again, I know I did. Then there are those who seek answers and communications with those beyond in a more serious note. The word Ouija alone conjures fear and mystery. The Ouija has been widely used for almost 125 years. Talking boards have always been popular among practitioners of many religions, especially Spiritualists. The boards gained popularity during the 19th century thanks to the Fox sisters of New York. They supposedly began communicating with an entity that went by the name “Mr. Splitfoot” in 1884. The Fox sisters became celebrities in

American Revenant: Hometown Exodus

American Revenant: Hometown Exodus by John L. Davis IV is, without a doubt, my favorite zombie book of the year. That’s basically it, all I have to say. I’ll elaborate more, but that’s the take home message. At $0.99 (that’s ninety-nine cents USD) you can’t afford to not own this book if you’re serious about zombie fiction. …Okay, so you know me better than to assume that I was actually done, but the point is that I could be. I’ll give you the tldr version first: This novel hits the ground running with enough action to keep me actively engaged from the first few pages on. There was never a dull moment, either in terms of what was going on, or in terms of the word choices that Davis used. The dialogue between characters is realistic and seamless, unlike the extended monologues or useless banter-driven conversations that frequently are used to kill time or narrate occurrences in place of actual

If you’re a masochist, then you’ll love the torture of SUPER GHOULS N GHOSTS

Title : Super Ghouls ‘N Ghosts Publisher : Capcom Developer : Capcom Genre : Action / Platform Players : 1 Player Release Date : 1991 Estimated Value (as of today’s date) : $20-$25 You know, I can’t say this game is SCARY, or HORRIFYING in the traditional sense, but do you know what makes it frightening? How downright difficult and unforgiving it is! I had the luxury of snagging a copy of SUPER GHOULS N GHOSTS recently, and I couldn’t resist popping it into the ‘ol Super Nintendo and giving it another whirl. Lo and behold, and much to my lack of surprise, the game frustrated me to no ends just like it did years ago. Sure, it’s not as bad as the original for the NES, or if you happened to play the one in the arcade which is ten times as worse, probably because you had to keep feeding it quarters, but the Super Nintendo version sequel is
