An Interview With Michael Lombardi Director & Star Of ‘The Retaliators’

Ahead of its premiere this September, I sat down with co-director and star Michael Lombardi to discuss his killer horror film The Retaliators, which left me impressed as hell. Lambardi, who made a name for himself in movies like Last Knights and series such as “Rescue Me,” plays the lead in The Retaliators about “an upstanding pastor who uncovers a dark and twisted underworld as he searches for answers surrounding his daughter’s brutal murder. Kelli: You not only direct the film but also star in it, will you tell us a little bit about who John is? Michael: “Yeah, so, um, John Bishop, he’s a small town pastor. The film starts in a sort of Spielbergian-Joe Dante Gremlin way. He’s beloved by his community. He’s a man of morals, a man of the cloth. And one of the things that the writers had put in the script, which really was a shoo-in for me. He’s a rock star in this

Star of stage and screen, Kersti Bryan and I sat down to discuss her role in AMC’s new “Walking Dead” anthology spin-off ‘Tales of the Walking Dead.” But our conversation also drifts to the horrifying events that are currently plaguing our lives. Paramount+’s hit supernatural series “Evil” is currently smack dab in the middle of its third season and things are crazy with the show’s characters being put in a position where they must choose between good and evil and many of them are struggling. One of the characters who are struggling is Dr. Kurt Boggs, who happens to connect to many of the characters. Boggs saw something last season and has been struggling to come to terms with it since. I sat down with the oh-so-talented Kurt Fuller who plays Dr. Boggs and he filled us in on what’s really going on with the doc. Kelli: Dr. Boggs seems a little off-kilter after seeing the demon, what’s going on with him?” Kurt:” Well, what’s going on with Dr. Boggs is that Dr. Boggs believes in what you could prove, believed what you could see, a scientific method, use his education. Ex-Death Row Prisoner Rickey Jackson & Director Matt Waldek Discuss Their True Crime Doc “Lovely Jackson”

When it comes to true crime, there are thousands of documentaries, and if you’re like me, you’ve probably seen a lot of them. There’s one new documentary headed your way that is different, more profound, and more emotionally charged, Lovely Jackson. In the documentary, the life and wrongful incarceration of Rickey Jackson are explored. Rickey was convicted of murder while just a teen and sentenced to death before his sentence was commuted to life in prison three years later. He spent the next 39 years fighting for his freedom. You see, Rickey was innocent, and the only thing that tied him to the crime was a lie told by a 12-year-old boy, who eventually recanted his statement. Rickey was convicted without evidence and even had a witness tell the police he wasn’t the man. But still, Rickey spent the majority of his life in prison until the Ohio innocents Project came to his aid. Finally, he was set free. Lovely

Director Ali Akbar Discusses His Horror Film ‘Godforsaken’

Born in Afghanistan, Ali Akbar made his way to Canada where he studied Film Production at Toronto Film School. He has successfully written and directed many short films. In 2016 Ali directed his first feature film Faceless which was shot in Kabul Afghanistan followed by Godforsaken which has just been released on VOD by Terror Films. In the film, an Indie doc crew travels to a small town to document a bizarre and seemingly unnatural case, ending in extreme tragedy. When did you come up with the idea for Godforsaken? I always had an interest in religion and how it affects individuals. As a child in Uzbekistan n I was told a story about someone who came back to life at their own funeral – they acted strangely and then died again. I always wanted to tell a story about that and in 2018 I combined both and came up with the idea for Godforsaken. Did the idea change much
