Writer/director Roger Conners’ has been quietly making a reboot of George A. Romero’s ‘Night of the Living Dead. In fact, the movie is already half through filming and he plans to wrap up in May. Conners is aiming to make the modern version of the 1968 zombie movie. Conners is making some big changes to the original Romero script, including changing the sex of some characters and even the sexual orientation of others, for instance in ‘Rebirth’ Barbra is a man. This indie zombie movie stars Aswan Harris, Rachel Anderson, Alvin Hudson, Bradley Arner, RJ Messenger and Taylor Nelms. I have a feeling this movie won’t be received well by a lot of the fans of Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, but who knows, it may bring a new group of horror fans into the zombie genre. Last night I sat down for an interview with Kerry Fleming, the co-writer and co-producer of the horror movie ‘Rock Paper Dead’. Mr. Fleming and I had the best conversation about horror, that I’ve had in a very long time. It was very refreshing to hear him talk about his horror movie and the genre the way he did, with so much enthusiasm and pride. I know that those emotions will be evident in the quality of this movie, which I can’t wait to see. When I first heard about ‘Rock Paper Dead’ I was excited by the actors that had already signed up for roles, a group of true horror legends. ‘Cujo’ actress Dee Wallace, Michael Berryman of ‘The Hills Have Eyes’, and both Kane Hodder and Ari Lehman, who have played Jason in ‘Friday The 13th’, are all the cast list. ‘Rock Paper Dead’ also stars ‘X-Men’ actor Bruce Davison and Mikaela Hoover of the 2014 hit ‘Guardians
