Back in April we reported that filming had wrapped for season 3 of The Strain. Today, Kevin Durand, who plays Vasiliy Fet, announced via Instagram that the premiere date for season 3 has been announced.

Season 3 picks up with the New York City streets turned into a battleground. Residents are on their own, there’s no outside help coming. Humans and strigoi are now locked in a battle for survival. The Master is close to executing his plan to transform the world.

Corey Stoll, David Bradley, Kevin Durand, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Natalie Brown, Miguel Gomez, Max Charles, Ruta Gedmintas, Rupert Penry-Jones, Samantha Mathis and Joaquín Cosío star in this amazing series from Guillermo del Toro.

Be sure to tune in to FX for the season 3 premiere on August 28th at 10 pm. Here’s a look behind the scenes of the season 2 finale to help tide you over.
