Horror Fuel

Write for Us

Calling all genre writers

Horror Fuel is run by a small team of lifelong genre fans — and we are always looking for more voices. Whether you can break a story, review a festival premiere, or turn a forgotten classic into a must-read retrospective, there is a place for your pitch here.

You do not need a press pass or a journalism degree. You need original ideas, clean writing and a genuine love of horror. Every pitch is read by an editor — usually within a few business days.

What you get

A real byline. Every published piece carries your name and lives on your own author page at Horror Fuel.

A link back. Give us your site or socials and we link them from your author bio, so readers can find more of your work.

No pay, no pressure. Horror Fuel is a volunteer passion project — contributors write for bylines, clips and exposure.

What We Are Looking For

Strong pitches usually fit one of these shapes:

  • News and trailer coverage with real context — not just a reposted press release.
  • Reviews with a point of view. Spoiler-free by default; if a review needs spoilers, flag them clearly.
  • Festival coverage, interviews, retrospectives, gaming features and lists with a fresh angle.
  • Clean, original copy. We edit every piece before it runs, but the idea and the voice should be yours.

How to Pitch

The whole process happens over email — no forms, no waiting rooms:

Email us first. Send your idea to [email protected] with “Guest pitch” in the subject line.

Show us your writing. Include one or two links to published samples — a blog post counts.

Make the pitch specific. For news, link your source. For reviews, say when the film is out. A tight paragraph beats a long essay.

Hear back. We reply to every pitch, usually within a few business days. If it is time-sensitive, say so in the subject line.

Send us your best pitch and show us what you have got. We will take it from there.
