Skidding end at the tail end of the summer horror season comes ‘THE ICE CREAM TRUCK’, one of the creepiest looking indie films I’ve ever seen.

There’s something about suburbia that’s never sat well with me. Behind picket fences and backyard barbecues, there’s always something sinister brewing, festering and growing strong in the deceit. Those cookie cutter houses on the outskirts of the city are supposed to be safe, a place where children run and play, old men feed pigeons, young couples kiss under the stars. Of course that’s very rarely how things actually play out.
THE ICE CREAM TRUCK looks to tap into that fear, by using one of the most wholesome images in Americana as a source of evil. Directed by Megan Johnston, the film follows “Mary, who moves back to her suburban hometown after her husband gets relocated for work. As her family ties up loose ends back home, she moves into their new house alone. And although the move makes Mary nostalgic for her youth, there’s something very sinister about that Ice Cream Truck that patrols her suburb.”
THE ICE CREAM TRUCK drives into town and ruins your childhood memories August 18th.
